On Saturday, May 9th, Violet Mannella was called home at the age of ninety-three. She left us peacefully while her cherished songs played in the background; Amazing Grace and Ava Maria. Violet was born on April 9th, 1927 in Thornbury, Ontario to Violet and Joseph Morano.  She was known for her kindness and devotion to family and her Catholic faith.
Married to Ralph Mannella (Pre-deceased). They raised seven children together, Brian Mannella (pre-deceased) (Stella), Betty Stalteri (pre-deceased) (Joey), Peter Mannella, Linda Smith, Cathy Morris (Bill), Debbie Cultrera (John), Perry Mannella (Sandi).
Proud Grandmother of: Darren Stalteri (Lynn), Melanie Stalteri (Scott), Blaine Mannella, Adam Mannella, Derek Morris (Christine), Matthew Mannella, Lindsay Smith (Andrew), Angela Morris (Ciaran), Cory Cultrera (Kendra), Melissa Cultrera, Laura Cultrera, Kendall Mannella,  Karlee Mannella, Diane Smith-Posella and Great Grandmother of: Cobrun Stalteri-Fewings, Lotus Stalteri-Roberts, Joy Stalteri-Roberts, Connor Stalteri, Joshua Stalteri, Hayden Morris and Nora Morris.

Violet Mannella resided at the Nipissing Manor Nursing Home in Corbeil, Ontario over the last four years, and lived in South River, Ontario for the majority of her life.  You would never see her without her sweets, such as chocolates, cookies and cheezies and peppermints. She also looked forward to her daughters bringing afternoon tea and cookies.  She was a proud member of TOPS/COPS for forty years, receiving numerous awards over that period of time.  At the Nipissing Manor she made friends and was loved by many of the employees. She found joy playing Bingo twice a week consistently winning the jackpot of a loonie or toonie. Throughout her life journey she was honest, thoughtful, gentle with her touch and words.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no visitation or public service at this time.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge.
In lieu of flowers, we would love for you to share a memory with us on the message board or a donation to a children's charity of your choice would be appreciated.
