VERNON BELL
Of Magnetawan

Peacefully at The Pines in Bracebridge on Thursday May 4, 2023.  Vern Bell was in his 85th year.
Vern is survived by his sister Viola Thomas and his brother and sister-in-law Harry and Eleanor Bell and sister-in-law Mavis Bell and predeceased by brothers Leonard, Carl (Shirley) and Herman (Helen). Vern will be fondly remembered by all his nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Vern was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parry Sound, on September 20, 1938. He was the son of the late Lorne and Violet Bell of Spence.
He was raised on the farm and enjoyed his entire life in that area. As a young man he moved in with his brother Herman and sister-in-law Helen and shared his life with them and his nephews Rick, Mervin and Brady. Vern loved his family, spending time in the garden, hunting, fishing and his work life included time at Home Hardware, the Township and road construction.
A graveside service to celebrate Vern’s life will be conducted in the Spence Cemetery in Magnetawan commencing at 1:00 pm on Thursday May 11, 2023, with Reverend Steven Smith officiating.  If desired, memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church, Magnetawan or a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel in Burk’s Falls.
