RUTH ELIZABETH MARIE RAAFLAUB
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Raaflaub on Monday, July 12th, at Fairvern Nursing Home, Huntsville.
Ruth was born on March 7, 1924 in Magnetawan to the late Alfred Ulrich and Anna Louise (Reinhart) Raaflaub. Ruth was in her 98th year.
A life-long resident of Magnetawan, Ruth was the youngest and last remaining of her siblings which include Switzer, Elmer, Edna, John, Walter, Bertha, Leonard and Harvey. Her nieces and nephews comprised her family and include Del Lourie, Jim MacLachlan, Dianne Barry McNabb, Darlene Lawrence, Pat Clark, Cathy Raaflaub, Yvonne Raaflaub, Ron Raaflaub and the late Leone Reid and Jan Donio.
Ruth was a dedicated member of Knox Presbyterian Church and was blessed with a large and caring group of precious friends. Her family wishes to take this moment to acknowledge and sincerely thank all of Ruth’s dear friends and neighbours, who have helped with so many acts of kindness and caring over many years, allowing Ruth to remain in her home and beloved community until her move to Fairvern in 2015. Many thanks to the Fairvern staff for their loving care of Ruth especially during this difficult time of Covid-19.
Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home – Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk’s Falls on Friday July 16, 2021 from 6-8 p.m.
A service to celebrate the life of the late Ruth Raaflaub will be conducted on Saturday July 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church in Magnetawan.
Interment at Chapman Cemetery, Magnetawan.
If desired, in lieu of flowers memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church in Magnetawan would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
