MIKE MITCHELL
of Sundridge

Today, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer we said goodbye to Mike.
Survived by his spouse and best friend,  Lori.  Mike was the proud father of Kimberly Rudachyk (Brent) and Amanda Normandin (Travis) and treasured poppa of Sophie Elinor & Shelby Anne Rudachyk. He was the cherished son of  Jean Francis Mitchell.

Predeceased by his father Michael James, brother Brian Paul, brother-in-law Donald Brock Gray and in-laws Jeanne  Elinor & Gordon Edward Gray.

Throughout his life Mike was an avid Hunter & fisherman & will be missed by his best friend Austin Toth (Leah), the entire hunt group and his chocolate lab Lady.

Mike & Lori married April 25, 1986 and built a life in Sundridge with their family.  Mike became a custodian at the Near North District School Board retiring in 2017 from Sundridge Centennial Public School.  Mike is well known to many in the village for his ability to help anyone in need, his landscaping and yard work and to many cottagers on the South River, Eagle Lake & Lake Bernard where he helped with spring set up and fall take down of many cottages.

The family offer their heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Palliative care team Muskoka Algonquin Health Centre and the nurses and staff of Care Partners  for the wonderful care given to Mike during his treatments. Donations in Mike’s memory may be made to Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site – Cancer Centre, 100 Frank Miller Dr, Huntsville, ON P1H 1H7, or Almaguin Pet Rescue, Box 135, Sundridge ON P0A 1Z0.
