Of Sundridge (nee Morrison)

Peacefully at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Saturday October 18, 2025. Vera, beloved wife of the late Laurence McGirr and the late Bill Earl.

Dear mother of Jeanann Brooks (Maynard), Myrna Lawrence (late Douglas), Ivan McGirr (Shirley).

Proud grandmother and great grandmother.

Predeceased by her parents John and Alice Morrison and her siblings Lillian, Gordon, Allan, Percy, Dorothy, Ann, Gladys, Marjorie and Albert.

Vera was an avid quilter, knitter, enjoyed curling and square dancing, a member of the UCW; she will be fondly remembered by all her family and friends.

The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Friday October 24, 2025 from 11am until 1pm.

A service to celebrate Vera’s life will follow in chapel commencing at 1:00 pm with Reverend Rick Callery officiating.

Interment in Strong Cemetery.

If desired, memorial donations to Zion United Church, The Sundridge Food Bank or a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
