Susan Marie Bayne

Passed away surrounded by loved ones at the Huntsville Hospital on Friday, July 3, 2026, she was in her 71st year. Beloved wife of Jim Bridges. Cherished mother of Mike (Sara), Dwayne, T.J, Terry (MJ), Jeremy (Nadine), Tyler (Rachel) and Lindsay (Lindon). Proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by her sister Pati (Willard). Sadly, missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Susan was a nurse for many years, who cared for many during her career. She had a passion for the outdoors with her critters (foxes, chipmunks, birds, deer, moose) and the backyard sport shooting with the kids. Her love and passion for the grandchildren was beyond imagination. She loved and cherished being with Jim on the side-by-side puttering around the woods, on the motorcycle, and travelling to Nova Scotia to be with family and friends. She always had a blast during parties with the kids, family and friends around a campfire telling stories and having a good laugh. Family and time together meant everything to her and she would do anything possible to have everyone there with her and Jim.

Cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium. A private Celebration will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Opatovsky Funeral Home- Moore Chapel. If desired, donations to the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital – Palliative Care Team would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
