With heavy hearts, Bob and Sharon’s family announces her passing on February 26, 2022 at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto after a brief illness.  Sharon grew up in South River and enjoyed her professional career as a Registered Nurse.  She was known for her kindness and helping others.  She was a talented quilter and belonged to local quilting groups.  Sharon was a great athlete known in the sports of softball and curling.  Married to Bob for 34 years they both loved raising and caring for their fur babies.  Sharon and Bob retired and returned to Sleepy Hollow their home on Eagle Lake for the past 20 years.  Predeceased by her parents Bert and Jean Hewitt (nee Stewart), South River/Sundridge.  Survived by her siblings Ken (Mindy) Burlington, Vicki Murdoch (Mark) Arnprior, Garry Midland, Steve (Margaret) Sundridge.  She will be missed by her nieces and nephews.

Bob and Sharon’s family would like to thank North Bay Regional Health Centre and Sunnybrook CVICU in Toronto for the excellent care she received.  Thank you to the kind staff at Skinner & Middlebrook in Mississauga for their care and compassion.  Thank you to Opatovsky Funeral Home in Sundridge for their care and compassion as well. Sharon and Bob would like to acknowledge the caring, compassionate staff of the Verzijlenberg Animal Hospital Sundridge, for years of looking after their fur babies.

A graveside service will be held at Bowes Cemetery in South River, Private, invitation only.  A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at the South River Brewery Co. following the graveside service.

If desired, donations to the Charity of your choice, or to Victoria’s Quilts Canada, would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
