In Loving Memory of Rod Grummett
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rod Grummett, who passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, shortly after celebrating his 77th birthday.
Rod will be remembered as a quiet, gentle man who lived his life with kindness, humility, and grace. He rarely complained and never wanted to be a burden to others. A nature lover at heart, he enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, bowling, and time spent on the lake he called home.
Rod was predeceased by his beloved wife Brenda, with whom he shared 20 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created many treasured memories, whether relaxing on their pontoon, sharing time with neighbours, or vacationing in Aruba with close friends.
Although Rod had no immediate family of his own, he was surrounded by caring friends and neighbours who became like family, as well as his niece from Brenda’s family, who held a special place in his heart.
Rod will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His gentle spirit and genuine warmth enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to call him a friend.
As per Rod’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Those wishing to honour him may do so by spending a quiet moment in nature, feeding the birds, or cherishing time with neighbours—simple joys that meant so much to him. Donations in Rod’s memory may go to Huntsville Hospice.
Rest peacefully, dear friend. You will be deeply missed.
