MR. RICHARD "DICK" WILLIAM BATES Of Orillia and formerly of Sundridge Peacefully at Leisureworld in Orillia on Tuesday October 18, 2011 in his 88th year. Dick Bates, beloved husband of Marjorie Bates (nee Cripps). Dear father of Donna Farrugia (John) and Paula Coulthard (Gerry). Loving grandfather of Amber and Taylor Farrugia and Shannon and Travis Coulthard Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and his friends in the area. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street, Sundridge on Thursday October 20, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #467 will gather in the chapel for a tribute service on Thursday evening at 6:30. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mr. Dick Bates will be conducted at the Knox Presbyterian Church in Sundridge on Friday October 21, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. with the Reverend Les Drayer officiating. Interment at the Strong Cemetery in Sundridge. If desired, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
