Phillip Weddel

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Phil on January 9, 2026, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, surrounded by family.

Phil grew up in Uxbridge and was known for his charm, strong personality, and adventurous spirit. He loved the outdoors and had a lifelong love of animals. Fiercely loyal and protective, Phil was the kind of person who always showed up for the people he loved.

A true “motor guy,” Phil had a gift for mechanics and could fix or rebuild anything with an engine. He worked tirelessly over the years and was respected by all who worked with him. He later fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening his own truck repair shop, something he was incredibly proud of. Following his first stroke, Phil continued to show up each day, helping however he could with the same determination that defined his life.

Outside of work, Phil loved snowmobile racing with his son Lucas, motorcycle rides, boating, and time spent with family and friends, making memories.

Phil will be deeply missed by his wife, Pam (nee West); his son Lucas (Kelly); his parents Doug and Pat Weddel; and his siblings Lisa (Brent), Jenn (Tyrone), and Glenn (predeceased by Steph). Phil will also be lovingly remembered by Pam’s mother, Debbie (predeceased by her husband, Richie), and Pam’s siblings, Lisa (Matt), Angie (Andrew), Jason, Shane (Christian), and Tara (Billy), along with his many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family will receive visitors in celebration of Phil's life at the Magnetawan Community Centre, 4304 Hwy 520 in Magnetawan on Saturday January 24, 2026 from 3 to 6pm.
