Paul Carl VanDam

Passed away peacefully in Huntsville surrounded by loved ones on Friday, August 16, 2024, he was in his 80th year. Beloved husband of the late Catherina “Tina” VanDam (nee Kok). Cherished father of Jennifer Munro (Richard) and Dave VanDam (Melissa). Proud grandfather of Teagan Munro, Gabriel, Levi and Eden VanDam. 

Paul was often seen with a camera in hand documenting the wonders of nature, the beautiful and serene property on which he lived and the many “Opa” adventures he had with his granddaughter, Teagan. He took pride in capturing the beauty around him and the special moments spent with family and friends. From an early age, Paul had an interest in what was beyond what we could see in the sky, observing and learning about space was a passion. Paul was extremely charitable, donating time and money to causes he was passionate about, he was always available to assist when called upon and stood up for causes he was passionate about. His family and loved ones will miss his sayings and his compassion for all living things, especially his rescue dogs Jed, Garth and Bailey.

Paul is proceeded by his parents Gerardus and Cornelia VanDam (nee Jansen), brothers, Hubert, Frank and Louis and sisters Theresa, Corrie and Joanna. 

As per Paul’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Paul’s life will take place at a later day. Arrangements are entrusted to Opatovsky Funeral Home- Dempster Chapel. If desired, donations to the Burks Falls Food Bank or charity of choice would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
