Murray Zuwala

January 13, 1941 — March 21, 2026

Sundridge

Murray “Moe” passed away suddenly on Saturday March 21 at his home in Sundridge, Ontario at the age of 85. Survived by his wife of 62 years; Kathleen Zuwala (nee Bruder). Father of Ted (Denise), Stephanie and Jennifer. Grandfather of Steve, Aaron and Elizabeth. Great grandfather of 4.

He will be a greatly missed Poppa to Steve Jr. and (grand) Poppa to Selena who both “fondly” remember their recruitment into picking blueberries for many a Summer.

Predeceased by his parents John and Maria (nee Habinka), brothers Stan (Delores) and Chester (Joan) and son-in-law Steve Baillie Sr.

Murray had a long successful career in the metals servicing industry in technical sales which allowed him to visit numerous towns and cities all across Ontario. He was an avid hunter and sports player in his youth and golfed through mid-life.

Murray and Kathee raised their children in Kitchener, then moved to Mount Forest when the nest was empty. He retired at age 60 and enjoyed gardening, walks in the bush, fishing and taking his beloved dog Butch (1&2) everywhere he went.

In 2002 he moved North to Sundridge, Ontario where he continued gardening (too many tomatoes) and driving his quad all over in search of the best blueberry patches to harvest. Again, with his beloved dogs, Butch 3&4. Sadly, he leaves behind Butch#4.

Private family arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Moore Chapel in Sundridge, Ontario.
