Mavis Bell

Peacefully at Fairvern Nursing Home in Huntsville on Monday January 27, 2025. Mavis, beloved wife of the late Leonard, was in 87th year.

Loving mother of Richard (Kasia), Lois and Randy (Helen) and second mother of Linda, Anne and the late Donna.

Proud grandmother of Michael and Ethan and loving Nan of Josh (Cydney) and the late Megan.

Great grandmother of Theo.

Dear sister of Paul, Georgee (Rick), Betty and predeceased by Jack and Harry. 

Mavis grew up in Ahmic Harbor and worked on the lake as a youth, she knew many of the tourists in the area. Later she worked at the local LCBO for many years. She enjoyed her many friends and family and was known by all the kids in Magnetawan. She loved to cook for her family and was her happiest when everyone was home and together. Mavis’ love for her family and grandchildren was legendary and she will always be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, other family and dear friends.

A service to celebrate Mavis’ life will be conducted in the Spring.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk’s Falls.

If desired, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
