Merle was born in a log cabin near Pevensey and lived in Sundridge for many years. She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years Howard, her parents Bill and Laura Kennedy, brothers John, Allan, Earl, and Morris (Mort) Kennedy, and grandson Christopher Hill.
Survived by sister Maxine McTaggart, sons Morgan (Jean Marie), Liam (Laurie) grandchildren Kimberley (Rob), Kurtis, Kaitlyn (Steve), Kelsey plus both great and great great grandchildren.
Most people will remember her jogging daily through town in many bright colours chatting with anyone she met on the way.
She worked as a bookkeeper at Blue Ribbon Dairy and enjoyed a long retirement.
Merle passed with dignity at Hospice Huntsville and the family would like to thank the staff there for their compassion.
Cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn and service will be private.
If desired, donations to Hospice Huntsville would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
