Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Algonquin Grace Hospice on Friday March 22, 2024, at the age of 71. Beloved husband and soulmate of Darlene Thorn (nee Reck). Cherished father of Dawn Groen (Robert) and Shawn Thorn (Chris Dynes). Proud grandfather of Jessica (Brandon), Tristan, Gabriel, Emmanuel, Ariel (Dany), Faith, Devon and Ethan (Shelby). Sadly missed by his siblings: Howard, Alfred and Trish Thorn, brothers-in-law: William, Don and Joe Reck and many foster children, nieces and nephews. Wayne was a true die hard Leaf fan, he loved four wheeling, watching the Leafs play, hunting, playing guitar and was a Mama’s boy through & through. Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Opatovsky Funeral Home- Dempster Chapel.
