John Albert Sharwood McAughey

Peacefully with his family by his side at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday May 13, 2025.

John, beloved husband of Patricia (nee Wilson), was in his 81st year.

Dear father of Bob (Joy), Tim and Lianne (Dave). Proud grandfather of Cory (Brandi), Kris (Lindsay), Tessa, Alex, Max, Brandy and Jed.

Great grandfather of Patrick, Alivia, Jacques, Lily and Wesley.

John is predeceased by his parents Bill and Ada McAughey, his siblings Jean, Pete and Marjorie, stepbrother Murray and survived by sister-in-law Issy McAughey.

John will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his smile, his sense of humour and ability to fix almost anything.

The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk’s Falls on Sunday May 18, 2025, from 11am to 1 pm. A service to celebrate John’s life will follow in the chapel commencing at 1:00 pm with Reverend Edna Murdy officiating. Cremation will follow.
