MRS. JOAN ADA JOHNSTON (nee Orton) of Emsdale Peacefully at Eastholme Home for the Aged in Powassan on Thursday October 27, 2011. Mrs. Joan Johnston was in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Wyatt Johnston. Dear mother of Robert (Wendy) of Whitby, David (Mary) of Powassan and Mary of Emsdale. Cherished grandmother of Matthew (Eileen), Brad (Jill), Laura and Christopher. Great grandmother of Sommer, Owen and Elle. Joan is survived by her sister Bunty Howes (John) and predeceased by siblings Colin, Birnie and Olive. The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Friday October 28, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mrs. Johnston will be conducted in the chapel commencing at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday October 29, 2011. Reverend Nina Fulford and Reverend Doctor Dorothy Wilson officiating. Interment in Emsdale United Cemetery.
