MRS. ISOBEL MAY SHORNEY (nee Gidney) formerly of Katrine and Burk's Falls Peacefully at Algonquin Grace Hospice in Huntsville on Sunday September 29, 2013. Mrs. Isobel Shorney, beloved wife of the late Colin Shorney, was in her 97th year. Loving mother of Gary Shorney (Kathy), Bruce Shorney (Jane), Susan Shorney, Linda Maurer (Dan) and late David Shorney. Proud grandmother of Sarah, Michael (Cindy), Brian (Allison), Rob (Rosalie), Tom, Darryl, Ryan (Alysha), Melissa (Chris), Lee Anne (Ryan) and Adam (Katrine). Great grandmother of Rebeca and Vivian. Isobel will be fondly remembered by Darlene and Brian Lawrence and all of her family and friends. The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Thursday October 3, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mrs. Shorney will be conducted in the Katrine United Church commencing at 1:00 p.m. on Friday October 4, 2013 with Maureen Ellison officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Algonquin Grace Hospice or the Katrine United Church would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
