It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Catherine Lang. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who departed this life peacefully surrounded by family on September 24th, 2025 in her 98th year.
Born on July 19, 1928 in Sundridge, Ontario, Helen lived a life full of love, kindness and devotion to her family and community. Known for her delicious home cooked meals and standing invitation to ‘come on in for a cup of coffee’, she always made gatherings at home a priority. Generous by nature, she gave freely of her time, her energy, and her heart – leaving everyone who knew her better for it.
Helen was happiest singing with the Happy Gang choir, being involved in her United Church community and in the midst of a rousing card game- be it Bridge with the girls, or a nightly cribbage game with Jim. She cherished her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren, who received an outside amount of love from her- she was the true matriarch of the family.
She is survived by her brother Micheal, two grandchildren; Nicholas and Kate, and great grandchild Henry. She is predeceased by her husband Jim, children Jamie and Jean Anne, parents Lillian & Frank Turner, and her sisters Marg, Pat & Sandy.
A service to honor Helen’s life will be held this Summer 2026.
Though she will be dearly missed, there is comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her husband, children, and sisters.
'The Queen Bee’ is finally resting and at peace.'
