Passed away peacefully at Muskoka Landing in Huntsville on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, she was in her 86th year. Happily married to John MacFarlane for 67 years. Loving mother of Gordon and Lindsay MacFarlane, Robert and Shelly MacFarlane, and Matthew MacFarlane. Proud Grandmother to Scott, Nathan, Wyatt, Emmett, Dylan, Avery, Amy, Emma, and Rhett. Doting Great Grandmother to Ethan, Gabriel, and Cathryn. Dedicated teacher for over 30 years, with a passion for teaching in the LD classroom. Throughout Heathers retirement she continued her love for teaching at the local public school reading to children and volunteering as a librarian. Heather enjoyed her time with her sorority sisters, raising donations and awareness for foundations such as the Canadian Cancer Society. Heather will be remembered for her big heart making sure everyone felt welcomed and loved.
Cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium followed by a private burial at Terrace Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Opatovsky Funeral Home- Moore Chapel. If desired, donations to the SickKids foundation would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
