MR. GORDON MULFORD SWEENEY of Sundridge Passed away at Leisureworld in Orillia on Monday September 23, 2013 in his 92nd year. Gord Sweeney, beloved husband of the late Annie Sweeney (nee Woods). Dear father of Penny Sweeney-MacDonald (Roger) and Vicki McBride (Brian). Loving grandfather of Jason, Doug, Marnie and great grandfather of Kaeli, Jacob, Madeline, Evan, Niki, Davey, Cheyanne and Noah. Predeceased by grandson Mark. Cherished brother of Bernice Firman and Lloyd Sweeney. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Thursday September 26, 2013 from 11 A.M. - 1 P.M. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mr. Gord Sweeney will be conducted in the chapel on September 26, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. with Mr. Jim Nicholson officiating. Interment at the Strong Cemetery in Sundridge. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
