Gordon William Rice

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Gord on Saturday, February 7, 2026 in Sundridge, he was in his 57th year. Beloved father of Garry Anderson Rice. Cherished son of Alma Rice (nee Ketchabaw) and Garry Rice (Maureen Ednie). Lovingly remembered by his siblings and their families Nina, Ken, Mackenzie and Roy Shambrook. April, Clint, Jaden, Emily and Holly Zolnierczyk. Ryan, Denise, Braxton and Mackenna Rice. As well as his large extended family.

Gord loved the wilderness, and the wild life. His big heart had him adopting several animals over the years and sharing his love. His craftsmanship skills in both carpentry and mechanics were of great pride to him. Gord had a generous heart giving of his time and skills when he could. One of his greatest joys in life was watching his son Garry become the man he is today.

Cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium. Arrangements are entrusted to Opatovsky Funeral Home- Moore Chapel. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
