MRS. GERTRUDE EVELYN PARKES of Sundridge Peacefully at Cassellholme in North Bay on Wednesday June 27, 2018 in her 87th year. Gertrude Parkes (nee Hall), loving mom of the late Susan Walker (Hiram), Donnie Parkes (Karen), Debbie Jeffery (Doug) and Cindy Parkes (Rick). Proud grandma of the late Scott, Christopher, Tylor (Katelyn), Candice (Shawn) and great grandma of Piper, Regan, Addison, Kayleigh and Rilee. Cherished sister of Rene Craig (late Charlie), June Kincaid (Doug), Carol Vitunski (Edward), Ken Hall (late Shirley) and Edward Hall (late Joan). Predeceased by parents John and Pearl Hall, brothers John Hall (late Marion), Wilf Hall (Sandra) and sister Ann Adams (late Carl). Fondly remembered by Justin and Calvin Jeffery, her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Friday June 29, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. - 1:30 P.M. A service to celebrate the life of the late Gertrude Parkes will be conducted at the Sundridge Gospel Mission, 303 Sunny Ridge Road in Sundridge on Saturday June 30, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Stephen Ramsay officiating, with visitation an hour prior. Interment at the Strong Cemetery in Sundridge. If desired, memorial donations to the CNIB would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
