FANNIE ANNETTA SMITH of Sundridge Peacefully at Eastholme in Powassan on Saturday April 25, 2015 in her 96th year. Fannie Smith (nee Parkes), beloved wife of the late Howard Smith. Dear mother of Franklin Smith (Sharon and late Rita), Donald Smith (Bernie), late Howard Smith, Mervin Smith (Betty Anne), Faye Racicot (late Paul), Janice Brownrigg (Bill), Michael Smith (Peggy), Francis Purdon (Ed) and Bill Smith (Susan). Lovingly missed by 25 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Cherished sister of Everitt Parkes (Marjorie). Predeceased by parents Nora and Edmund Parkes, brothers: Charles, James and Joseph; sisters: Hazel, Alice and Marjorie; grandson Glen and great granddaughter Alyssa. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Tuesday April 28, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. A service to celebrate the life of the late Fannie Smith will be conducted at Knox Presbyterian Church in Sundridge on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Les Drayer officiating. Interment at the Strong Cemetery in Sundridge. If desired, memorial donations to the Children's Wish Foundation or the Hospital for Sick Children would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
