Edward Keates

June 30, 1969 — December 25, 2023

Burk's Falls

At home, after a 9-year battle with cancer; surrounded by his family on Monday December 25, 2023. Ed is survived by his loving wife Sheri (nee Reynolds) and his two beautiful children Casandra and Edward. Dear son of Bill Sr (Sadie) and the late Faith. Brother of Bill (Katherine), Kathleen Innanen (Kris) and brother-in-law of Jason Reynolds. Uncle of Billy (Sarah), Chris (Kat), Rebekah & Holly. Son in law of David and Marlyn Reynolds.
Ed is survived by his very special 5 cats and 2 dogs.
A die hard Habs fan which hopefully no one will hold against him, he loved to live life to the fullest. Eddie enjoyed many years as a Master Tiler, with many people seeking him out to create his masterpieces of tile in their high-end cottages in Muskoka. If you’ve visited Eddie’s home in Burk’s Falls, you’ve also seen one of his other passions, his love of arcade games. Eddie loved his Trans Ams, all 7 of them through the years.
Life will never be the same for the Keates family as a little piece of each of them has been taken with Ed’s passing.
A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held on his birthday; Sunday June 30, 2024 from 1 to 4pm in his favorite space, the home arcade.

As you can imagine, the past 9 years that Ed has been battling colorectal cancer has not been easy for the family - emotionally or financially. Being an independent contractor, when Ed was unable to work because of his chemo and radiation treatments, he was not bringing in any money to support his family. Because of this, we have set up a GoFundMe campaign where donations will go to help the kids with their future. If you feel inclined to give, please visit:
