MRS. BETTY BERNICE McCOLLOM of Sundridge Peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday July 4, 2013 in her 78th year. Betty McCollom (nee Coombs), beloved wife of the late Clarence McCollom. Dear mother of Edith Ballard (Fred) of Welland, Julia "Judy" Ludwig of Niagara Falls and Carolyn Weeden of Prince George, British Columbia. Loving grandmother of four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Cherished sister of Irene Hodgson, Audrey Corbett, Ed Coombs, Annie MacKenzie, Leonard Coombs, Lawrence Coombs, Bella Robins and Joe Coombs. Predeceased by brothers Don Coombs, Walter Coombs, Nelson Coombs, Everett Coombs and sister Phyllis McNeil. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Saturday July 6, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. and on Sunday July 7, 2013 from 12-2 P.M. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mrs. Betty McCollom will be conducted in the chapel on Sunday July 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with the Pastor Rick Callery officiating. Interment at the Strong Cemetery, Sundridge. If desired, memorial donations to the Lung Association or CNIB would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
