Betty Attwell

Peacefully at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Saturday July 15, 2023.  Betty Attwell (nee McCreary) , beloved wife of the late Ron Attwell, was in her 87th year.
Dear mother of Rhonda Theberge (Greg), Bob Attwell (Terri) and Steve Attwell (Fanny).
Proud grandmother of Racquel, Brett, Marly, Kristi (Keith), Laura (Yannis), Zach (Charlee), Cole (Aimée), Shaw (Missy) and great grandmother of Leo, Jayce, Eliza, Layla, Bronson, and Wolf.
Betty is survived by her brother Carmen McCreary (Blanche), sisters-in-law Carole and Eileen McCreary, predeceased by her parents Carl and Rose McCreary; siblings: Trudy, Edgar, Bill, and Keith and will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Betty was a shining light of optimism for all who knew her. The love she had for family and friends filled the room.  Her smile was infectious and true, and her laughter contagious.  
Life was enjoyed to the fullest by Betty.  Time with family was precious, filled with laughter, warmth, and a sense of ‘home’.  Friends were many and Betty loved her time shared with them – at church, singing in the choir, attending plays and choral presentations in the community, playing cards, and lunches out. 
Betty will be remembered for her tender heart, uplifting spirit, sharp wit, and a whole lotta spunk!  
The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Thursday July 27, 2023, from 4 pm to 7 pm.  A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held on Friday July 28, 2023, at Knox Presbyterian Church in Sundridge commencing at 11 am with Reverend Steven Smith officiating.
