MR. ALVOY H. SARARAS Formerly of Burk's Falls Peacefully at Eastholme Home for the Aged in Powassan on Monday February 21, 2011. Mr. Alvoy Sararas was in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Verta Sararas. Dear father of Linda Whitehead (Wilfred) of Ingersoll. Cherished grandfather of Martin Brown, Sherry Sararas (Bill), Tammy Shular (Trevor) and Honey Daniels (Richard). Great grandfather to Jordan, Katelynn, Miranda, Brittney, Alisha, Haydin, Jessica, Valerie and Nathaniel. Alvoy is survived by sister Louise Hicks (Alvin) and predeceased by brothers Ken, Morris and Albert Sararas. Alvoy will be fondly remembered by all his family and friends. The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Thursday February 24, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mr. Sararas will be conducted in the chapel commencing at 11:00 a.m. on Friday February 25, 2011. Pastor Richard McQuillin officiating. Spring interment in the Burk's Falls Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
