It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the recent passing of Allan Pascal (1937 – 2025). A long-time resident of Sudbury, Allan had spent the past several years in Sundridge, moving to the Lakeland Long-Term Care facility in Parry Sound in 2023.
Born in Kapuskasing to Peter and Aline (both predeceased), Allan would move to Sudbury with his family in 1968, continuing his work with the Government of Canada – Employment Insurance Services and retiring after more than thirty years on the job in 1994.
Beloved partner of Elaine Croft, Allan leaves behind his four boys: Randy (Mary-Ellen), Rick (Yolanda), Terry and Dwayne (Lynne), as well as ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a large extended family. He is also remembered with love by the mother of his children, Donna Appelt.
Predeceased by both of his brothers – Norman and Wayne – Allan was a talented junior hockey player, capturing multiple league awards while starring with the Owen Sound Greys. He would go on to play in a variety of leagues in Sudbury as well as with the Noelville Flyers intermediate team and was at the forefront of the early power skating programs that were offered in this area.
Well-known as a very social gentleman, Allan enjoyed a definite affinity for music and was more than a little comfortable on the dance floor. He maintained contact over the years with his many friends and former teammates in Kapuskasing as well as with a whole slew of new friends as he and Elaine became winter mainstays in the community of Frostproof, Florida.
Per Allan’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation.
Cremation has taken place, and arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Moore Chapel in Sundridge.
