Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare Hospital on Sunday, October 16, 2022, he was just shy of his 60th birthday.  Beloved father of Danny, Elissa and Bridget.  Proud grandfather of 4 grandsons and one on the way.

Cherished son of Barbara Belrose and predeceased by his step-father Bill Belrose and his father Norman Makela. Sadly missed by his siblings Cheryl DeRose (Claudio), Penny Preston and predeceased by his brother David Makela.  Lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.  Alan will be cremated at Forest Lawn Crematorium.  A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.  If desired, donations to Northern Cancer Research would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.  Arrangements entrusted to Opatovsky Funeral Home – Moore Chapel.
